so should i update my wii?

i got some wiiware games, but they restart the wii. i did a little bit of searching, and they only play on 4.0. i don't have 4.0, i'm a 3.2, since i used those ISO installers found here. they(the wiiware games) don't launch normally, but if i use GeckoOS, they launch and play just fine, so should i update my wii or no? since i don't want the HBC gone, but from what i've heard it doesn't do anything, right?

By ISO I am guessing you ment IOS. (ISO game files are illegal IOS's aren't) you can do almost anything on 4.1 that you can on 3.2. However the ways of getting fakesigned programms to run is a little bit more complicated on 4.1

Updating is safe no (official) update has ever bricked anyone's wii and has never even removed the HomeBrew Channel.

Updating to 4.1 should be fine. :] There is a even an easy way to get the trucha bug back or install cIOS now, should you ever need it. -> [forum.wiibrew.org]
