A DVD, some subtitles and MPlayer CE: not working

I burned a video DVD with some nice subtitles, but I could not get the subtitles working. I have enabled them on the Options menu, but it didn't work. Any suggestion?

(Already tested the DVD on my notebook. It's running fine)

its has gone through many updates, im pretty sure they are going to work on it still for as hard as they try to optimize it.
