Noob question here, but how do I run WiiSCU to update IOS61 and the shop? I copied the three files (boot.dol, meta.xml, icon.png) to a fresh SD card. There are no applications in the homebrew channel to run, though.

I have my regular homebrew SD card with everything I normally run, but I don't know where to copy the WiiSCU files on it, nor do I have an application to run it. Can I run it with the WAD manager?

I just want to install IOS61 and update the Wii Shop, without doing anything else to the Wii. Can someone walk me through this one please?

Make a new folder called 'WiiSCU' or whatever you want to call it. Put the boot.dol, meta.xml and the icon.png in that folder. Put the folder in the 'apps' directory of your SD card. Hope this helped!
