hi,i am just posting to ask if the blocking effect i get when playing dvd movies is normal on the wii ,there is some ,not to bad but is there a way to correct it ,it is also called pixelation i think! thanks

I haven't noticed this. It might be that the movie is just of low quality.
Though I don't use my Wii to play DVDs very often because it usually lags pretty bad at some parts.

Are you using the most current version of mplayer ?

if you are then its just the decoder not being able to handle the graphical content of whats on screen.

Try mplayer ce.
