Emulators, the games do not save

So while playing the games on the emulators (The GBA one and the NES one) the save function does work and the games seemingly save, but when I cut the emulator off and come back later, the save files are not there.

I know there is something I didn't do right but what?

um, are you saving in-game? I'd save a game snapshot instead. I had that problem too. Just save a snapshot and it should be fine. Plus, with snapshots you can save at any time; i.e: During a battle in Pokemon or something.

I was able to resolve this. I didn't have the saves sub-folder inserted in the right folder. Thanks for your help.
