Problem updating Snes9x

Anytime I load up Snes9x it lets me know that a new update is available. I click on "update now" but nothing seems to happen. I've waited 5-10 minutes, and nothing pops up... there is no progess bar showing it's downloading/updating, no anything. Is this a common issue? Should I just be more patient and wait longer? Can somebody give me any tips.

You can just manually download it and move it to your SD via comp. i dont have internet for my wii, so thats all i do

Yes there was one particular version that this happened - I broke the auto-update :(

You'll have to manually update if you find this happening.
