Emulator loading problem
August 06, 2009 12:10PM
Hey there,

i have a problem running any emulator on my wii.
I downloaded some (e.g. smsplus) and put it on my SD Card exactly the way its described.

I start the HBC and click on smsplus to load it, but the TV screen keeps black all the time. I waited at least 10 minutes but nothings changed. Then i have to Reset my Wii.

I can load any other Homebrew stuff without a problem except emulators.

Can anyone plz tell me what I'm doning wrong.

Thx a lot.

Yes i downloaded the latest version from wiibrew.
I'm not sure if its a problem for some Homebrew stuff that my Firmware is 3.1E.

Do I have to update?
Thx

I'd advise installing tona's PatchMii cIOS, then updating, then using dop-IOS to install trucha enabled versions of all IOS. But I dont think that'll fix your problem, thats just the best way to update for you.

No, you do not have to update.

What version of the HBC do you have?

Ok I solved it.
There was apparently a problem with the DVDx installation.
I reinstalled it and now all emulators are working without any problem.

Thank you all for helping

have you installed DVDX ? if yes, did you follow a "guide" to do so ?
what size is your SD ? Is it SDHC ?

there are generally 2 solutions to this relatively common issue:

1/ reinstall DVDX properly or uninstall it completely
2/ format or use another SDCARD

EDIT: just in time
