Mother 1/2

Two questions.

Is Mother 1 compatible with FCE Ultra GX (NES emulator)?
Everyone time I try to load it, a gray screen comes up and nothing happens.
I've tried several different ROMs.


Do patches for ROMs work in either FCE Ultra GX or SNES9x GX?
I have patched both Mother 1 and 2 ROMs so they are in English, but then I can't load them.
The emulator says "Invalid file size."
The Mother 2 Japanese ROM works fine. When I patch it, it no longer works.

don't worry about getting an english patch for Mother 2, just play Earthbound

Yeah, I just thought of that.

But what about Mother 1?
I can't even get any ROM of it to work, much less get a translation.

No idea, I, as much as I love M2/EB, can't get into Mother 1, so I've only played it once or twice on my computer or Xbox
