VBA GX problem...

I know that this problem is probably ancient and has already been fixed, but I cant find anything. I am trying to play Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand.
VBA GX has a built-in solar sensor menu, however I cannot get it to work.

You must not use patched versions of Boktai roms! (Except for the translation patch for Boktai 3, which is highly recommended). The patches are for old emulators that don't support the solar sensor. VBA GX and NO$GBA support the solar sensor natively, and the patch will stop them from working.

The emulator is made for the game; it even has special wii controls for the game. When I try and play the game, I get an error message:

So what should I do? What can I do to fix the solar sensor issue? (BTW, Disabling the solar sensor wont help at all for 2 reasons
1. The game needs the solar sensor for the game.
2. The RTC communicates with the solar sensor.)
I am running on VBA GX v2.0.7

Sounds like you're using a patched ROM whether you realize it or not.

how am I supposed to know if it is patched or not?

Try downloading the game again. Then you'll know if it was patched or not.

What the heck is that supposed to mean? I got it from (literally) 5 different places and none of them work. Have you gotten your Boktai to work? Would you mind telling me how in a PM?

I have no idea if it will help, but theres a new version of VBA. You might want to try it out.

I know, 2.0.8. no it doesn't work unfortunately...
I talked to Tantric about this and he has no clue. He says that the one who coded the RTC and Solar Sensor part is an old developer (who is gone now) that went by the name of "Forgotten". Does anyone know him?
