Pokemon mystery dungeon red rescue team won't work on VBA GX.

I have the proper file (gba file) and the proper save file, but when I choose to play PKMN MD RRT the screen just goes black. I can still operate the home menu but there is no image or sound. Is there any way to fix this?

wrong board, and mystery dungeon is a ds game, it would be impractical to emulate it on the wii, just buy the frigging game for god sake
