Help Final Fantasy Tactics Advance crashing!

I'm having this same problem right now in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Just to clarify, the freezing occurs right before starting a battle when the objective green bar (ex: defeat the boss) appears across the screen.

It seems to happen when there are more than 12 sprites onscreen. Just use 5 chars and you'll be good to go.

It happened to me with SSF2TR so I don't think this is strictly true.
