Updating to use the Shop Channel

I'm running Wii System Menu 3.4U with Homebrew Channel 1.0.6 and I need to update in order to download MegaMan 10 from the Shop Channel. What do I need to do to ensure a safe update? Is it possible to update the Shop Channel without updating the System Menu?

Run my Dop-IOS MOD program. ( [code.google.com] )

Have it install IOS 61.

Have it install the latest shop channel.

Play Mega Man 10.
