How can I safely update to Wii Menu 4.3?

Hey guys,
so I bought a new game and it says an update is required, so I turned it off because it said homebrew would be detected and erased.
I saw at the main page of this site it said all i have to do is update hackmii to the latest version, and then i can install nintendo's official update. Is that all?
I'm just confirming this because I don't want my homebrew to erase, or my wii to get bricked.

There is absolutely no reason or benefit to updating, but homebrew does work normally on 4.3.

For anyone else in this same situation, I ran hackmii v0.8 and clicked "install Homebrew Channel" and that's all. Then i updated and everything worked fine.

That is all you have to do. I'm glad you figured out by yourself.

HackMii 0.8 is more recent than latest official update, so updating will not remove it :)
