update 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 did not work
August 29, 2009 08:53PM
I tried updating homebrew from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3 and i got a menu that said THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL CANNOT BE INSTALLED there is no usable IOS for the channel and the same for the DVDX. BOOTMII can only be installed as an IOS the installed BOOT1 version prevents a BOOT2 install.....what do i do?

This is because at one point, you installed cIOScorp. Uninstall cIOScorp to fix it.

Its in your IOS...

Here's how to remove it:

Get NUSD.
Download the latest versions of ALL IOS and MIOS and BC.
Tick the "Pack to WAD" box.
Put all the WADs in a folder called WAD on your SD card.
Run AnyTitle Deleter and delete IOS201 and DVDX.
Run WAD Manager and install all the WADs you put on the card.
Run HackMii Installer and install DVDx. (and update HBC too).

Then all traces of cIOScorp are gone.

He musn't have done that bit. That's OK, less work for you. (There are a couple of bits to cIOScorp, you can install some without others). However, it has occured to me that if your Wii hasn't been touched in six months (as stated in other thread), it isnt the latest version of cIOScorp, so removal is much easier than I thought. Simply update through the Wii System Settings. This will remove cIOScorp and preloader, which I note you also wanted removed. You see, old versions of cIOScorp are deleted by System Updates, but the latest version is "update resistant". Just update your Wii via WiFi and all will be fine. Then run HackMii Installer and install the latest HBC, DVDx and probably BootMii as boot2 as well if possible.

you mean channels?

If they're channels, I recommend getting rid of them with AnyTitle Deleter if possible (may not be possible if you no longer have trucha bug)

They can always be deleted

OK, cool. Didn't know how AnyTitle Deleter worked. So it can delete anything without any exploit?
