I know that freeloader no longer works on latest system menu, but back on 3.1 or whatever it was, it could be loaded from disc channel, but homebrew trucha discs couldn't ever be loaded from disc channel without a modchip afaik. you had to use a loader. so how could datel make discs that would work, and homebrewers couldn't? i believe they used trucha, same as "us", so why could theirs boot without any help, and the ones made by homebrew community couldn't?

Prehaps they have an exploit that only they know about... I thought you could boot trucha discs trough disc channel if your system menu had a Trucha IOS (probably wrong though)

They probably used something that resembled an official Nintendo disc rather than a DVD-R.

They just pressed the disc with the GameCube hardware disc encryption that the Wii still uses (which they had defeated to make GameCube discs) on it.
