October 2009 Wii Shop Channel Update Topic

This is going to seem like a really dumb question (it is and I've been out of the Home brew loop for awhile) but how do I install WiiSCU? I downloaded the version 23 zip file, I unpacked it, and I'm left with two folders. One is called "Source" and the other is called "Apps". What do I put on my SD card?

Extract the contents of Apps like any other Wii homebrew app you'll use with HBC, Source folder is just for people who like playing around with the source code.

I've already updated to 4.2.
So, updating now won't affect homebrew?

Well, it's kinda confusing with the 4.2 mega topic screaming 'DO NOT UPDATE!' a few topics below.
And before you say it again, I got everything it figured out now :D

Hey guys have a problem with shop channel on 4.1u wii
I installed homebrew, preloader, and updated my firmware from 3.1u to 4.1u.

All working great except shop channel and photo channel
When I try to launch it goes to black screen and locks and I need to restart

I tried dogeggs shop update, no go.
than I did the wiiscu on wiibrew downloaded WiiSCU v0.22 loaded pressed
only yes to update shop channel (nothing else, no ios, or other channels)
Took about 10 minutes, all loaded ok, rebooted and I'm still getting the black screen

Any ideas?? please help!

0.22? Try 0.23. Failng that, dop-IOS MOD trial 15 should work for you.

Ok did .23 loaded and clicked on "yes" for update shop channel only and same thing....
clicked on shop channel and black screen!!

Am I missing an ios or something?? Should I say yes to ios61?

I don't know what dop-ios mod is? I see where to download it off wii brew ad I did download it.
I put it in the apps file? Than what? Load it through homebrew and than what?

Yes you need IOS61. Install it with WiiSCU and Shop Channel should work.

EDIT: Although, on 4.1 you should have IOS61...try installing it again anyway, maybe its broken or something.

I just tried the dop-is mod did ios15 and selected shop channel and it froze
rebooted shop channel still black screen when I load

so your saying go back into .23 channel update and say what to ios61? - or + truncha?
Should I say yes again to shop channel update?

If I'm wrong about what you said that please correct me.

Ohh by the way I don't remember ever seeing ios61 I remember seeing or I did a patch for ios60 durring my homebrew intall/preloader install etc.
