What About The New Channels (Check Mii Out ect...) Can I Get These Or Not?

Will They Not Work Like The Nintendo Channel, Or Will I Simply Be Unable To Download Them...

Thx In Advance

Oh great Lords of the WiiBrew,

Your faithful gather in masses before your stronghold in sheer panic.
Their faces a sorry blend of fear and confusion.
Chaos rules the land.
Mis-informing leads surface.
False prophets stir up the crowd.
Fear of bricked Wii's and un-notified future updates sends a chill down theirs spines.
The throngs clutch their Wii's to their chests with horror.
The eighteenth day of the eleven month of the 2nd year full year of the Wii will be remembered in soft tones under the light of camp fires.
The Damned carry the mark of the evil spell and the number of the spell is 3.4.
Oh Great Ones, show thy mighty figure and reveal your plans to cut down the Beast that has risen from the East to rain down fire and brimstone upon the village of your faithful leaving them scattered to the four winds and clinging to a sliver of hope.
Shed light upon the path that shall lead back to peace and prosperous WiiBrewing for those who would not use it for evil purposes.

Alright, I ran out bullshit.
Sorry folks, I thought I'd have a little fun.

Edit: Spell-checked to be taken more seriously :-))

Weirdo :P

@Someone

I need to ask... There's two utilities for updating the Wii without downloading the "bad parts" of the update... The Softchip mod of patchmii and Mii Channel Updater. Which is better?

I still can't seem to get a straight answer on this but can I keep Wiiconnect24 on with FW 3.2 or was the automatic update feature secretly built into 3.2 and not used until now? Also can I still play games online without getting this update forced on me secretly?

You can keep WC24 on and play online games if you are on <3.4 (anything besides this new update).

Is this a fact?
I've heard speculation that Nintendo might not need the update itself to force future updates but rather, by changing the Service Agreement for using their online service, the can force the updates upon you console regardless of what menu version you have.
Also, I would assume they would only be able to do this through WiiConnect24 either with the Wii turned on or in stand-by (when enabled), not while you're playign online through the WiFi connection. Maybe it's all speculation at this point, though.

Did somebody take the update apart and look for noteworthy changes?
I'd like to see how Nintendo implemented the auto update.

Isn't it doubtful to believe that Nintendo will use Wii Connect 24 to signal/start an update.

Isn't it more likely for the System-Menu or the IOS to poll for updates?

Neither is better. Wait for something from team twiizers.

From my understanding of WC24 (which is not definitive), WC24 only checks addresses listed in it's local database. So in order to do this, Nintendo would need to add a new record to the WC24 database, which they might have done with the new update. If you didn't update, they can't magically make this happen.

I would have said WC24 would probably be more realistic, as it is all coded for working with the internet. IOS would be a bad choice due to the number of versions they would have to maintain. They could update the System Menu, but that would seem daft, esp' when WC24 would do what they needed.Still, it would be an option for them.

Updates are already sent through WC24. They'd only have to change the protocol to add a "download and install this update immediately" flag, rather than having it just show you the message with an "update" button. Such a flag could have existed all along (doubt it), or could have been added with the latest update.

Doesn't Nintendo just send messages to the users about the updates?
