SMG 2 wiimote problem

I have a Japanese wii 4.2 and trying to play US SMG2. It starts off fine but within a minute of playing the game, the wiimote stops responding. The screen is still there but there is no connection between the game and the wiimote. I have installed the latest ios but it just won't play. Anyone else have or had this problem? What was your solution? Thanks.

Is the remote an official Nintendo remote? I've heard problems that third-party remotes, like the Nyko Wand, have sync issues. Try re-syncing the remote or change the batteries.

Yes, it is an official wiimote. And the batteries were replaced last week. Am I missing some ios's?

If you are missing an IOS, the game won't run at all.
