help please!!!!! homebrew dvd

I have the homebrew and my wii still says it cant play a dvd! ive tried all the media players and still nothing! help please!

Most wiis made in the last two years will never be able to play any dvd media. You can load media from usb, sd, smb, but doubtful to get dvd working unless the wii is older.

thanks. that manual says its a 09. do you know if that is to new?
