how can i run an app not in the traditional form

i apologize for my ignorance in my previous thread. so i will re word my question and i hope no hard feelings.

basically i downloaded an app and the zip file only contained a .dol file and two read me files. i moved them into my apps folder and it didnt show up on the homebrew channel...i noticed its not named boot.dol and doesnt have a meta file like all my other apps do..but there must be some way to run this correct?

make a folder in /apps/ called anything, but the DOL in and call the dol boot.dol and it will show up.
