Oops.

Ok, so..one day I was playing COD:MW2, and my brother was playing the wii. I usually dont worry about him updating it because all he does is play games on it. Soo he comes over to me and says THE WII IS UPDATING UHH DO I PRESS YES OR NO and he was being really annoying so i was like "FINE YES JUST PRESS YES"...and i thought it would just update to 4.1 and i could just restore my nand later..but it updated to 4.2. It was at 3.2, I had cIOScorp installed(i cant remember what rev, i think it was either v10 or v14..or v13), some MIOS patch that lets you play backup gamecube games(yes i know you frown apon these sort of things, but i owned the games) and something that let me play backup wii games through the disc channel which i think was ciosCORP(yet again i owned the games), DVDX, and i had bootmii installed as boot2, which didnt work anymore after the update. Im not sure how to fix it because I tried using bannerbomb and HackMii installer to just install everything again and restore my old nand(with 3.2 and all) but it said i didnt have any vulnerable ios. Does anybody know how I could fix this?

Yeah you still have cIOSCORP. That is what gives you the "No Vulnerable IOSs" error. Use Dop-IOS MOD to install IOS 30 v1040.

The problem is CIOSCORP.

Using bannerbomb, run Dop-IOS MOD and install any IOS. After that, run the hackmii installer, and it should load. Reinstall everything, and once you have bootmii installed, restore your NAND backup.

Edit: Lol, TopGun, you posted while I was typing. :P

Thanks but when I try IOS30 v1040 or IOS36 V1042 all the text on the screen garbles up and freezes my wii(have to hold the power button to turn off), or it LOOKS like it works(everything goes through) but at the end it says something failed, and nothing gets installed.

Try it without any patches (Trucha) and make sure you are using the newest version.

Are you sure you're using the latest version?
Edit: Wow, topgun, you beat me to it again. :P

I tried 35, 60, and 70 and none of them worked. I also tried 249 but it just freezes up my wii..

I guess an alternative would be to use NUSD to get an unpatched IOS wad and then install it with WadImport
Re: Oops.
December 06, 2009 02:59AM
Which IOS would that be?
Re: Oops.

Pretty much any IOS. I'd say IOS34
Re: Oops.

Ok so I use NUS Downloader to download IOS34 and install it using Wadimport? Would it work if I just used it to install IOS30 V1040? o_o
Re: Oops.

The newest version, I would think. I'm not sure what version that would be, though...

yeah, for IOS34, you can leave the version section blank and it will get the latest version.
EDIT: it would be v3348

Wad Manager would work, but it is not supported by WiiBrew. You should be able to find it easily if you look though

Quoting the HBC website

In particular, "cIOSCORP" is known to be problematic because some idiot decided it would be smart to take some old version of IOS, change the version number, and overwrite all other IOSes. Other failpacks are less destructive, but that still means its not a good idea to use them.

You're basically on your own, for the sake of your Wii: get rid of the failpack.

It refuses to run on those IOS's because the earlier versions of cIOScorp scooped out your Wii's innards and turned them into delicious Scrambled IOS Breakfast™, which confused the crap out of their installer and gave TT all sorts of bizarre errors to scratch their heads over.
