Can anyone take me through the homebrew browser installation steps. I was wondering if this was legal to do and one of the posts does say it is so I want to install the browser.

I bought the Zelda : twighlight princess game . does it have the browser in it?

First, you must get the three following items to use homebrew:

1)A Wii
2)An SD card
3)A copy of the legend of zelda the twilight princess

I have all 3 right now. I have original of zelda itself. Does it matter?

Yes, you should use an original.

Now, play zelda until you have a save file of it on your wii.

Okay, so now you're ready to put the necessary files to run homebrew on your SD card. Go to hackmii or wiibrew and download the twilight hack beta 2 and the homebrew channel. Extract their contents to the root of your SD card.

When you think you're done, tell me what files are on your SD card and I'll tell you if you've set up your SD card correctly.

Most people only need to if they have an old SD card, so I'll bet that you do not have to.

downloaded these 2 files to card. Just saved these 2 files i the main directory.

3.4: twilight-hack-v0.1-beta2.zip
(MD5: 4b4eae530dc94d6f1710b0a96bf9e00f)

.DOL (For usage with Twilight Hack & other booting methods)

Please read the README file!

the_homebrew_channel-1.0.1.tar.gz
(MD5: 183d80460b7df98bdf90c8c349e4ca7b)

The extracted folders of these files are -

Private , readme.txt and the homebrew channel 1.01

these have various folders inside them. do u want me to list them too?

Just list everything on your SD card after extraction. The things I'm looking for are 1)The twilight hack is in the root of your card and 2)The homebrew channels boot.dol is in the root of your card. If you're sure they are, we can move on. If not, then please list everything thats on your card for me.

ok, here goes-

H:/

[In root] Folder 1 - private/wii/title/rzde/data.bin
rzdj/data.bin
rzdp/data.bin

[In root] Folder 2 - the_homebrew_channel1.01/wiiload/lin32,win32,osx,wiiload.tar.gz [rar file] [lin, win and osx folders]

Okay, you're ready to install the homebrew channel!!!

Put your SD card in your Wii. Go into the Wiis data management screen and copy the twilight hack for your region from your SD card to your Wiis internal memory.

Load twilight princess, load one of the two save games. Walk backwards or talk to the man in front of you. The game will crash. Accept to everything, congratulations you will install the homebrew channel.

"copy the twilight hack from your Wii region from your SD card into your wiis internal memory."

by this do u mean that i copy rzde file [co ordinating with the rzde -0A 2 wrttien under the disk of zelda?] to the wii?

How to know if I am using the right one -

America (USA) RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA /private/wii/title/rzde/data.bin TwilightHack2

then use the hacked save from the USA folder.

pick the one that matches your game disc:

Okay, so put the sd card into your wii. Then go into your wiis data management screen. Copy the usa version of the hack from your sd card to your wii, replacing the existing zelda save in your wii.

thanks arikado for your time and patience. Thanks dr.lucky.
I was confused with what files to copy. Got it now. Installed the twilight. For homebrew it warned me that my firmware is something like 385 something and the homebrew is tested only for 35 soemthing firmware.
loaded homebrew channel but got nothing in it only blue bubbles coming out in the screen.
anything else i have to do to get games?

and I also read somewhere that the twilight hack works only once and if I trun off the wii, it will be erased. is it true.? what should I do and not do now? a little confused here.

thanks again for ur inputs.
