my homebrew problems, plz help me!

hi there, so i have been to vietnam and purchased a lot of games there, and upon return i downloaded the hbc in order to start to make my wii region free. My wii is European and the games i bought i assume are region coded for US. My wii is running on system version 4.0E. I downloaded and installed hbc without problem, but now i can't make it region free. i have also downloaded and tried the geckoOS and when i try to load the game it says 'error: non dvd' and menu loader, when opened just says error.
Is there a way to play US region games on my EUR console?

Are you using the latest version of Gecko OS?
Menu patcher and Gecko OS's rebooter only works on 3.2, don't use them.

so are they any ideas of what i should do?!

yes i am using the lastest version, but whenever i change the settings or edit anything, it just ends up says error: no dvd
