Can I do the whole process with a USB drive instead of a SD Card?

because i believe it boots from sd card reader...not usb port...feel free to try...hell, the most you can do is blow up your wii.....lol....kidding

The Wii can't use USB drives for saves or channels.

You cann do mostly everything you want via usb after you get homebrew!!
homebrew reads the usb ports!
