How to use preloader

So i'm trying to install a failure softmod package on my wii, have very limited time because i don't have my own computer atm, so i hope someone can read in time, but anyway, it says i need preloader, i downloaded it, and it just gives me 3 files> I can't seem to find a readme or any faq that says what to do with them, so i assume that i just put it in the root dir, but nothing happens, i don't know how I'm supposed to know if anything is happening either. So if someone could enlighten me on wtf to do please help i only have a few hours.

I don't know anything about preloader, but if there is a boot.dol file, on your sd card it needs to go in ROOT:/apps/preloader/boot.dol. it should then come up on the homebrew channel.
