Do I follow any different guidelines involving the Homebrew Channel or other things with WiiKey v1? (1.9s firmware) I'd rather not have it cause problems.

Kind of What i'm trying to say is, if there's no guide to modchip users, is it okay to 'softmod' my hardmodded wii?

That guide is very outdated. You should get your information from [www.wiibrew.org] whenever possible.

The modern method for all Wiis is to use Bannerbomb to run the Hackmii installer to install both dvdx and the homebrew channel.

All guides I could find are outdated, but theres one thing. They all say the SD has to be below 2
I want to use ones more than 2, is that possible. Do they exist because the guides are old, or because nintendo supports up to 32gigs?

AFAIK, any SD Card larger than 256mb will work.
