The update method used by that version of the HBC probably isnt compatible with your system menu. I'm assuming you're on 4.0 If you really want to update, launch the HackMii Installer from the Homebrew Channel.Quote

1. When I power down / reset button my Wii due to an app freezing (mainly Mplayer); HBC says I have version 1.0.1 and have to download 1.0.3 again... Ive done this like 10 times in the past week... and when I say NO dont update, the version IS 1.0.1 and not the 1.0.3 that Ive downloaded
The card doesnt refresh itself. You have to manually press reload. Thats normal, as in, thats whats supposed to happen.Quote

2. Also HBC isnt refreshing when swap SD cards, I have to restart HBC by going to the Wii menu to get HBC to see the new SD card inserted... reloading will sometimes get HBC to see the new card...
