I know, Its a new gift. I just found out about it recently. Isn't it amazing? I could make a living with this. Everytime there's a fail, just predict GBAtemp and you're good. Its not that hard!! :P

Updating to 4.0 does not brick your Wii. If you do not stop posting everywhere in this forum that it does, you will lose your posting privileges.

Haha, so true. Actually, if the power goes out while you update, you might brick your wii, so just make sure not to update during a storm or something. :P

To answer your question. So far I never heard of any report of a Wii bricking as a result of a normal Wii Update.
"Normal" as in = no failware instaled.
But I guess on one in a million Wiis something can go wrong. That makes about 50 *Ka-chow!* :-)

so wat are the chances if I dont have bootmii installed

99.99% without, with bootmii it's 99.9999% :-) just install bootmii before messing around with homebrew apps like preloader
