cIOS downsides?

Startpatch 4.0 uses trucha IOS 36 but startpatch 4.1 uses cIOS 249 as IOS 36 didn't want to work with system menu 4.1

Tona's cIOS should still work. Have you tried it?

No but in the readme it says cIOS rev12 or higher... Therefore it must not be tona's as it only goes up to rev5

It should still work with tona's. I have used a few applications that say they need a newer revision, but they worked fine with tona's cIOS.

Hmm maybe we need to get someone to test that....
