trouble installing bootmii

Ok, so I am feeling like the ultimate noob having to ask this question. Just got a wii that prior owner had modded. It's 3.2e with Homebrew setup via the Twilight hack. So I put the boot.elf file in the SD subdirectory apps/bootmii. I go to HBC to run HackMii and I get this message. what's up with this message?
This installer can NOT continue!
There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on the Wii,
Please note that we will not use a fakesigned IOS due to security reasons.
Look for an updated version at:
[bootmii.org]
If this is already the latest versio... well, suck it.
I don't get the option for bootmii, DVDx, or anything.
Thanks in advance.

He probably installed something like cIOSCORP. I can't be of much help as far as removing that and other mods unless I knew for sure exactly what he did.

The SD card he gave me with the Wii had a USB loader folder and a cIOS36 folder.
Can I uninstall HBC and then start fresh?

You have a lot more to uninstall than just the homebrew channel, even so, if you intend to use that which he had on there, we cannot help you here

Here's what I found as a solution in another forum. Does this sound correct?

sounds right but A) IOS60Patched.wad is illegal, and cIOSCORP in and of itself can be considered illegal and what it does is not supported here

most stuff mentioned there is illegal and/or unsupported here.

That method is entirely illegal and will not work (and most likely brick your Wii)

To fix your problem, simply find and run cIOSCORP. Tell it to uninstall itself.

BLAMO!!! You're fixed.
