Installing Hackmii and dvdx(Im a newb)

Ok,

First I have Vers 4.1U

I put Hackmii in the apps part(main) of my sd card where my others are.

All I have is

dvdx installer 3.4
Gecko1.9
Homebrew Browser
Wiiradio

That's all that's there.... I don't see Hackmii anywhere so I cant install it.
At first I thought it was a program that ran in the background but
I figured you have to install it first before dvdx 3.4 works because
all I get with dvdx is error ticket stub.

Can anyone help? All I wanna do is play dvds on my Wii
but I need to install hackmii.. So how do I install hackmii
so dvdx will work??(Im assuming Hackmii works with dvdx)

Thanks :)

Ok, so Ive been reading on this site and apparently hackmii works like
dvdx but I dont see it on my apps in the hbc on my wii...
this is confusing...

I did it!! yay

well now im getting the error ticket stub thing with dvdx 3.4

I wonder if its one of my apps

Is there a channel that pops up for dvds
or does the wii just magically play them?

I figured it out.. Thanks for all the help TopGun96.

It works with Mplayer CE

really well.

Thanks again!!

I think I get it.

dvdx is with hackmii.

You run hackmii and tell it to install
dvdx and It does.

So you can use Mplayer CE (caps)

to play your dvds..

Did I get that right??

Is Mplayer CE the best out there as far as dvd playback on wiibrew
is concerned?

Another quick question.(I dont wanna doublepost)

Is gecko 1.9 used to keep wiiconnect 24 off??

I remember hearing that you should turn wiiconnect24 off
and theres a app or a homebrew app that keeps
the wii from updating.....

No problem!! That's what I am here for.

I believe that Mplayer CE is the best out there for all media playback... But I never used geexbox as it seemed to complicated with all that wii-Linux stuff.

No gecko does not keep WC24 off all it does is let the disc run without it asking for the update (among other things)

since you are on 4.1 you can't update sooo.... What?

Im being confusing..

srry.

I turned off wiiconnect24

and standyby mode.

Will that prevent any update nintendo
sends me from auto downloading?

Or asks me first?

ex:Nintendo sends 4.2U and I accidentally
download it, Or it autodownloads. Therefore all my hb stuff stops working
because I have the new update. And I don't want the new update when
it comes because I enjoy my homebrew...
Or until it says on wiibrew that its safe to download it.

Or is there a app that stops the update from autodownloading so it doesen't
screw everything up....

Get it?

Updates don't "autodownload". It will always ask you first. You can leave WiiConnect24 on if you wish.

Nintendo can't legally update your wii without your consent.

1. It is illegal in many countries.
2. There is no code on the wii that let's it.

Hey!

You don't have to turn off WC24. I think you're smart enough to not update. It won't autoupdate. never.

If you update, it's very easy to get HomeBrew back. You only have to install the HomeBrew Channel again. All other stuff probably won't be deleted at a update.

Homebrew channel wont be deleted by update either. Nothing will. That's illegal in some countries as well.
