my wii told me wtf. i was trying to back up my NAND and i had about 4 bad blocks. then it send short write:4096 the said exactly "wtf wrote 0 bytes ret=0" and froze write after. Does anyone know what this is suppose to mean. i tried googling it and no luck in finding it out.

What version of bootmii are you using? There is a bug in one of the older ones that leaves a zero byte file on the SD card..... I dont quite understand the problem

He was trying to back up his NAND. Ceiling cat reported that he had 4 bad NAND blocks when it started the NAND backup.

Sometime during the backup, these lines appeared:
short write: 4096
wtf wrote 0 bytes ret=0

Then, it locked up.

It looks like it tried to write something somewhere, but failed. That is obvious, but is the limit of my troubleshooting abilities.

Ahhh I see now.... Perhaps your SD is not formatted properly? I honestly don't know...

Hi there. I had this same issue. Turned out to be the format, was FAT32 and not FAT16.

Try formatting the SD card as FAT16 with default settings. Worked fine for me.
