Japanese vs US Wii games

Are there homebrew applications that allow the use of Japanese games on US systems or vice versa? I now live in Japan and my son was wondering if it was possible to get Japanese games that would play on a US system.

Yes, it works on all systems and the methods to install HBC are the same for any region.

You dont have to have HBC first, but it makes it a lot easier. I'd advise you do install it.
