homebrew apps help please

My wii works great with 2 gig sd card. However, i need more space. Does anyone know if I can use a 4 gig sd card and simply transfer all my files from my 2 gig...will this work ok...I have been under the impression that homebrew apps(channel) will not work on a sd card greater then 2 gig...can somone give me some advise please...as always, you help is greatly appreciated
