BannerBomb + Hackmii troubles

Hello,

I need some assistant with this issue I am having. Right now I am trying to install the hackmii program into the wii.
I followed the "Homebrew setup" from WiiBrew Wiki. I did every step on the list and still couldn't get the hackmii to boot correctly. I tried multiple different kind of BannerBomb versions. I'm either doing this wrong or my wii is being a persistent little prick.

running Wii version 3.1u
Wii Key Installed
using a 2GB SD Flash Card by Micro Center
downloaded HackMii Installer v0.6
used almost every version of Bannerbomb possible

Steps I took -
Format SD card
Downloaded Bannerbomb exacted then dragged into the SD card
Then downloaded Hackmii Installer exacted the boot.elf into the SD card
So it was the folder Private, and Boot.elf icons next to each other (root).
Pulled out the SD card
Turned on the Wii then went to Wii Menu, data management, channel, then SD card then I putted in the SD card.
I waited a few seconds and nothing happen.

I'm dumbfounded by my problem. If you have any professional tips please assist.
If I'm doing everything correctly then I guess I'll just have to keep trying out different versions of bannerbomb.

I also had trouble with bannerbomb working on 3.1 and 3.2. So I used the twilight hack. If that's not an option then upgrading to 4.2 might solve your problems.

The problem with updating to 4.2 is I'm afraid of bricking my Wii because I have the Wii Key installed.

Well then as per the rules, we can't help you, regardless of WHY you have the Wiikey

A Wiikey is a modchip

No, its a modchip, and modchips were only necessary for homebrew until the Twilight hack came out.

Anyway thanks everyone that attempted to give me some advices. I finally got it to work with the twilight hack.
