Firmware Update before first HBC installation?

I wont to install on a unchanged WII with firmware 4.0E HBC. I ask me if i should update before to firmware 4.2?

WiiBrew.org say "WiiBrew recommends that you do not update your Wii through Nintendo."
But on the linked video Homebrew in 5 minutes they update the wii before.

Is it ok to update the wii actually through nintendo that i can use HBC and all the other tools or do you know problems?

Its safe to update your wii through Nintendo.... I still don't understand why it says not to update on wiibrew.org. Its misleading.

It's safe to update for now. Every update since (I think) 3.3 has affected homebrew in some way that has been bypassed.
