Wii update 4.2?

I just got no more heroes 2 but it needs a update (4.2E), but I'm afraid to let him update because it might get bricked.
I have (europeanwii with) a Wiikey2 v1.2 but I don't want to soft mod.
how can I play games that are 4.2 without updating or by updating safely

To play them by updating safely, install 4.2. Your Wii will not brick. However, your Wiikey may stop working. This is fine; there is little reason to have any modchip besides an Infectus.

But Doesn't 4.2 brick even some normal wiis?

Only if you lose power at the wrong moment.. there's really not much of a risk. As WiiFX said, your modchip may stop working, but they are not supported here.

That was patched after the complaints went in. Nintendo can not and would not release a faulty update that's known to brick Wiis. If they did, they'd have to replace all affected Wiis, even the ones modded, for free.

Anyway, as long as there's no tampering with how the system functions and you're confident you'll keep the power on, updating should be safe.

Nintendo actually never changed anything. The update's just as safe as it has always been.
