4.3u question

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been answered or is just a moronic question to ask, but is 4.3u being worked on for homebrew? I understand that I never should have updated, and I understand completely if I have to be patient, but I am just wondering if I am waiting for something that will never happen, or if it is being worked on as I type this.

Yes there is a working HackMii Installer for 4.3 in all regions already, its not released though as they are obfuscating their exploits (basically hiding the code used to install stuff as much as possible), so its harder for Nintendo to block them. Doing this properly takes a lot of time, so you need to be patient, but it should probably be released in the next couple of weeks.

sweet! i am glad to hear that! i was just wondering cause i am coming from the jailbreak scene and over there they dont bother hacking useless updates like this one that often.

Well, it is usually done for the Wii, as updates are very infrequent (maybe two a year?), so there's plenty of time to do it, and many people will have 4.3 before finding out about homebrew, so new exploits and HackMii Installers are usually released for them.

probably not, but bear in mind its coders do have real lives, so it may not be the next couple of days, but probably in the next couple of weeks

one question all apps on hbc for 4.3 give me dumps , was i supose 2 down load dop-mii, and start patch

n00b question: I've seen people refer to this new hackmii installer as "all in one" do we still need bannerbomb/twilight hack/smash stack to do this? Running 4.3u, so bannerbomb is out of the question, and I don't have twilight or smash bros.

If it's truly all in one, can someone give me a brief overview of how to install it? I appreciate any help, and once again I apologize for my trivial questions.

Yes its all-in-one and yes you still need to use an exploit to run it. Bannerbomb and Twilight Hack are both patched in 4.3 so your options are Smash Stack or Indiana Pwns. Buy or rent one of the necessary games if you want to be able to install HBC.

But If we want to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1 to get homebrew (because I hear that 4.1 is better), should we wait any longer? Because I don't have any of the games needed to hack right now. If anyone has an answer, please help the n00biest person in the world out!

Don't downgrade, it is completely pointless and there is absolutely NO benefit. Moreover, if not done very carefully you could easily end up with a full brick.

SifJar, you say it is pointless to downgrade, but I read that truchabug patch won't work on 4.3U, and I used to need that to run certain homebrew (I won't mention what for fear of banning). Please school me on this topic. Thanks.

There are ways to restore the Trucha bug.

TBR works fine on 4.3 provided you install the Korean IOS41 (oldest revision) first and use it to downgrade IOS15, then complete the rest of the process as usual.

I have seen you tube videos of 2 people that show the procedure minus the 2 games mentioned. Do you really need the games to get through.

Those videos are almost definitely either a) a lower System Menu or b) a pre-modded Wii with an upgrade and using some leftovers to reinstall HBC etc.

I advise you do not pay attention to morons in youtube videos, and pay attention instead to us, the people who know what they're talking about, on a reputable forum.
