Gecko

I am all new to this so have no idea what I am doing so thought I better get some expert advice.

I want to put gecko on our wii so we can play games from different regions.

Our wii is not connected to the net and our PC does not have a SD reader.

Given that - is it possible for us to play different region games and if so...how do I do it without making a total mess of the wii?

You'll need an SD Reader. If your PC doesn't have one, you can buy one which can be plugged into a USB port.

Once I get a SD Reader do I just copy boot.elf on it and put it in the wii or is it a bit more complex than that??

do you own a digital carema ? i use one when i put stuff from pc to my sd for my hbc apps .

Yes a digital camera works too (usually). It is a bit more complicated than dragging the "boot.elf" file to the SD card. See my guide here

Well you need the exploit on your SD card as well. You run the exploit and it will load the "boot.elf" file

But it may or may not replace your private folder , so either back it up or rename it .

What does that mean?

rename ur private folder to privateold and just drag n drop any exploit folder into ur sd , then make a folder named apps, get home brew browser and the latest hackmii installer , put the boot.elf from hackmii folder and put it in the ROOT of your sd card, then follow the insturctions like the guides give you, once your done load hbc use homebrew browser download accio hacks, wiiXplorer, and gecko AND YOUR ALL SET TO GO =)

Just trying to help you along bob, so when you make a post it will make sense. Some new people may come in and read that and not understand whats it saying or what it means. Not fighting, just giving them some advice, before hand some other the other guys may end up telling him the same thing.
