running apps from usb and sd simultaneously

Runing all my emus on USB2.0 (along with homebrew etc). Running just a couple homebrew games on sd card (no homebrew on this). Question/concern/annoyance that i can't figure this out is: I cannot see any of my apps on the USB drive whenever the SD Card is installed, but I see all SD card channels (in homebrew). When i take the card out....BAM....all my apps on usb show up in homebrew. What am I doing wrong. You can make me look stupid, nothing looks stupider than having to get up and down to take out the SD card to play something or push it back in to play something. (ALL NEWEST IOS AND HOMEBREW)

That's how it works. You can also press 1 I believe and select USB, without having to get up and take out the SD card.
