okay I have installed the hackmii bundle and am trying to run the bootmii from the homebrew chanel but all I get is a black screen and the blue light of the wii blincking on and off

Run the HackMii Installer again and under the BootMii menu, choose "Prepare SD Card", then exit the installer to the Homebrew Channel and try again to load BootMii. Hopefully it should work this time.

Thank you very much for the tip. I was having the same issue as the Op, but thanks to your suggestion, I managed to fix it! ;)
