Letter bomb message?

Ok, so I simply wanted to get the homebrew channel. Sadly I have been at this "simple" process for hours now. I am assuming I am just stupid. Here is what I have done.

-download letterbomb with correct region and mac address (done several times now)
-formatted my sd card (sandisk 8gb sdhc FAT32)
-formatted wii system twice now with correct date and time.
-disabled wiiconnect24 (saw this on another forum)
-made sure card was not locked
-created memo after formatting to have a message
-started a game to get a message

What am I missing here?

Did you go back through the last few days to find the message? I think it can vary how far back it is, but usually not more than a week or so. Failing this, you could try Wilbrand GUI : [www.sendspace.com] this is a GUI by asper for giantpune's version of the letterbomb exploit. It should work in much the same way, but you could always try it, just in case.

are you able to use the system menu to copy saves to that sd card and load channels from it? if the system menu can't access the sd card, then it can't see the exploit. also, make sure you have the correct paths. some archive-extracting programs create extra paths when they dearchiverize files. the "private" folder from the archive needs to end up on the root of your sd card.
