Well, that's not completely true. WiiMC can play most formats, but there are some it struggles with I believe. (MKV isn't a strong point, from what I can remember). Bear in mind the Wii can only output 480p, so video in a higher resolution will have to be downscaled, for best results go with video at 480p or lower resolution. In some formats, 720p or 1080p will simply cause WiiMC to crash, in others 720p has been reported to play (but it will be downscaled to 480p).

So in short: Formats aren't much of an issue, resolution is more important.

FAT32 usually works well. Assuming you use Windows, you should be able to just right click the drive in Windows Explorer (i.e. "My Computer") and choose "Format", and make sure you choose "FAT32" as the file system. Instructions would vary for another OS.

Fat 32 doesn't come up exfat and nt something comes up sick as out of it now lol
