Wii is not recognizing SD card

I loaded the boot.elf file and the Return of the Jodi private folder to my SD card. When I loaded the Return of the Jodi savegame on my Wii I got this error:
Cleaning up environment... OK.
SD Card not present? (-1056964576)
SD card not found (-1056964576)
USBGecko not found
No code found to load, hanging.

I first tried a 4GB SD card and then read that this type is not compatible with the Wii so I then tried a 16GB SDHC card but got the same error.

What am I doing wrong?

**correction: the 4GB is also SDHC. a friend of mine said SDHC won't work, that i have to use a regular SD (which only comes up to 2GB) is that true?

When using Return of the Jodi, the SD card cannot be SDHC, but you can use Letterbomb with an SDHC instead.
