Upgrading old Homebrew System
March 29, 2013 03:21PM
I had a wii that I installed Homebrew on a few years ago. I just fired it up and everything works, but I lost my SD card. Is there a safe way to upgrade my OS (4.1U) and my Homebrew v(1.06 I think)?

Can I reinstall Homebrew using the same techniques right on top of the old one? Any upgrade guide out there?

Thanks

Download the HackMii Installer, run it from your existing HBC installation (put it on either an SD card or a USB drive; the folder structure should be like this: /apps/hackmii_installer/boot.elf [where "boot.elf" is from the HackMii Installer download]), choose to update HBC. Once it has finished updating, simply update your Wii normally (i.e. from the Wii Settings menu in the System Menu) and HBC will survive the update and you will have both HBC and your Wii fully updated.
