Wii corrupting SD card when writing

Hello everyone,

Currently we have a nintendo wii that we just installed HBC on. The nintendo Wii was version 3.1.We followed this guide: [[i]REMOVED[/i]]

Initially, everything looked great. We had all the applications installed, and homebrew channel browser launched and we could browse for applications. However, whenever we power off the wii, any folder on the SD card we used becomes corrupted. To explain further, we can download and install any application and run it while the Wii is on, but after we turn it off, the folder is corrupted (random symbols for name, files missing, etc.). This happens with any application we use (even ones we don't download from HBCB).

Do you know if there was a step we missed to allow the Wii to correctly access the SD card? We've tried two different cards at present (16gb class 4 microSD, 8gb Class 4 standard SD), so I don't think it has to do with that.
