Could use help on 3.3U wii
January 23, 2009 05:15AM
So I accidentally updated my wii to 3.3U a couple months ago (the wii hasn't seen usage for awhile) and with the update I can no longer run homebrew app programs. The channel runs fine, but when I go to click an application within the homebrew channel it says not a valid wii application.

So my question is... how would I undo an update so I can access all homebrew channel applications? Also I apologize for posting this, but I searched and couldn't find anything, even though I am sure the answer is right there in my face.

THanks alot guys, oh, and first post.

The 3.3 update is not the cause of the problem
The homebrew channel will only run .dol files (and only a few .elf files), so you need to convert the apps you want to use from .elf to .dol

well, what happened? I was using the apps perfectly up until I upgraded from 3.2 to 3.3.

I don't understand how it could be the file types because everything was working and running flawlessly. Now I cannot even open any applications. Minus the channel.

You must have upgraded your homebrew channel also because after beta8(I think?) the .elf files stopped working
Just search 'elf to dol converter' on the wiki. [I'd post a link but I'm not using my computer]

You can also use an app called loadmii to run your .elfs
