Playing Japanese Wii games on an EU Wii

Well I've gotten my game to load (Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekidou for reference) via Gecko OS but the text is garbled and looks like it's using the wrong codepage.

Is this a fixable problem or just something I'll have to live with unless I buy a Japanese Wii?

Wii games have font packages installed? that's weird... i thought they would be a part of he game....
