Putting Homebrew Channel on my Wii Problems.
February 02, 2009 10:02PM
Ok, I've been at this for a little while, and I thought it wouldn't be Brain Surgery...
Anyway, I have the Twilight Hack put into the root of my SD, and it works fine.
I forgot to put the Homebrew Channel into the SD Card. *facepalm*
So, I got the Homebrew Channel Data from HackMii.
I extract it using my prefered Extracter Program, and now I have a folder named
the_homebrew_channel 1.0.1.
Everything seems alright, so I try it...
I talk to guy man and I get a black screen with a bunch of text.
I have 0300 at the bottom with 3 collums of numbers.

Am I supposed to put the entire folder into my SD Card's root?
Am I supposed to rename anything?
What else could be wrong?

Please help and thanks in advance.

You need to put the homebrew channels boot.dol in the root of your SD card. Not the homebrew channel folder. Brain surgery indeed! :p

no, just put the dol in the root, not the folder... also, make sure you rename it to "boot.dol" if it isn't already...

good luck!

I don't know why they won't make the HBC do that...

Kazagin: You have to make an apps folder. Right click, new, folder, type apps.

I made the folder, and still nothing. I open up the Homebrew Channel, and all I see is the screensaver, a gray symbol and a white one.

You need to put apps in your apps folder for them to appear in the homebrew channel.

I just released a new version of wiibreaker. Download it and extract it to your apps folder. Run the HBC, run wiibreaker. Doing this will give you a good handle on how to use apps.

Is my apps folder just a normal folder like I would use to store pictures or music?
Is there some special name for it?
Please, I'm completely clueless...
Oh, and sorry for being such a pain.

Its just a normal folder named apps located in the root of your SD card.
