I would like to use Yahoo Messenger on Wii - required Connect24, so then when I am online, I can read offline messages left by friends.
Is it posibble?

WiiConnect24 basicly is an email service (if I understand it corectly, it even uses the same file formats and protocolls)
Unfortunately, there is no way for use to keep an application running during standbye.

A patched IOS might do the trick

1. Try registering your friend's e-mail address in your wii address book
2. Have your friend click the link in the e-mail message that you sent when you registered your friend's e-mail address

I have actually (because of the wiis non-headset support) played with my laptop by my side to chat with people im playing online with.
A Pidgin port would be more logical then Yahoo specifically.

or even a teamspeak port to use wiispeak
